The City of Morgan Hill offers a variety Programs to existing or new businesses.

Loan Programs

The City of Morgan Hill has partnered with the National Development Council to provide a unique loan program, the Grow Morgan Hill Fund. This program offers loan amounts of $100,000 to $1.5 million at very favorable rates and terms. Loans are available for permanent working capital, real estate acquisition, property improvements, machinery/equipment, and refinance of eligible debt. Loans made under this program will be underwritten by GAF and guaranteed by the Small Business Administration. This loan program is designed to help business grow in Morgan Hill.

The Grow Morgan Hill Fund is a unique economic development partnership between the City of Morgan Hill and the National Development Council (NDC), one of the nation’s oldest economic development nonprofit organizations. This fund is designed to help business grow in Morgan Hill.

The Grow Morgan Hill Fund (PDF) can be used citywide and provides qualified small business with SBA 7(a) loans.

Statewide Community Infrastructure Program

The City of Morgan Hill has a new tool to support new development. By partnering with the California Statewide Communities Redevelopment Authority (CSCDA) using the Statewide Community Infrastructure Program (SCIP), Morgan Hill can offer new, cost-effective options for funding development impact fees on both residential and non-residential projects.

About the Grow America Fund

The Grow America Fund (GAF) is NDC’s wholly-owned Small Business Lending Company. GAF works with Community Partners across the country to provide access to capital for growing small business. As a mission-driven Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), GAF lends to eligible small businesses that are beyond a conventional lender’s profile. The financing provided is partially guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and GAF has attained SBA “preferred lender status” nationwide. Expedited Permitting Assistance

Morgan Hill offers companies a one-stop center to expedite the permitting process. The city is committed to providing technical assistance and coordination with other city departments to expedite projects through the development approval process to ensure a timely and predictable permit process and help minimize cost and increase productivity.

Workforce Assistance

Meeting the workforce requirements of local businesses and the employment needs of residents are the twin objectives of work2future, the organization which functions as the local administrative arm of the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA). Through work2future, businesses can receive a variety of services including: free posting of job listings, access to qualified job applicants, pre-employment screening, and assistance with downsizing and employee transitions, and testing employee skills and customized employee training.

Employment Training Panel Fund (ETP)

The State of California Employment Training Panel (ETP) provides funding for employer-supported workforce development / training by redistributing, through a competitive application process, a small percentage of funds paid into the Unemployment Insurance Fund by private sector employers.
