Zoning

Overview


Zoning regulates land uses within the City of Morgan Hill. Each parcel in the City is assigned to a zone which describes the regulations under which that land may be used. The Zoning Code identifies allowable uses and sets standards such as minimum lot size, maximum building height, and minimum front yard depth.

Downtown Plan


Downtown Specific Plan


The City Council adopted the Downtown Specific Plan on November 4, 2009. The Downtown Specific Plan covering approximately 115 acres is generally bounded by Main Avenue to the north, Butterfield Boulevard to the east, Dunne Avenue to the south, and Del Monte Avenue to the west in the City of Morgan Hill. Please refer to the Downtown Specific Plan for specific land use and development standards.

Design Review Handbook


The City of Morgan Hill established the Design Review Handbook to set minimum standards for architecture, site planning and landscaping. These standards are applied to new development or improvements to existing development.
