A Water Conservation Ordinance and Level 1 Supply Shortage Resolution instituting mandatory year-round restrictions on water use is currently in effect. Winter restrictions began on November 1st and irrigation watering is only allowed on Wednesdays.

City Hall will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday on November 26 and 27, 2009 and will be open for business on Monday, November 30, 2009. Additionally, Passport Services will NOT be available after 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25th, however, will be available at 8:00 AM on Monday, November 30th.

The spectacular Third Street Promenade is moving into the third and final phase of construction, Completion is expected by the end of 2009. The project is made possible through a $1.7 Million state grant that covers 40% of the total construction cost. Upon completion, 3rd Street will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly thoroughfare with wide sidewalks, landscaping, fountain and a unique plaza feature. Effective September 15, 2009,South Valley Disposal and Recycling will be getting a "facelift". They are now undergoing a name change and updating their logo and “brand.” Their new name will be Recology South Valley. While their bills and trucks may look a bit different, they will still be providing the same services with the same employees in Morgan Hill. [Additional info...]
